Project Introduction
The Montgomery MPO is updating its Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Plan. This update will evaluate the progress of action toward the recommendations in the approved 2019 Plan, identify new focus areas and modify any previous recommendations based on updated needs within the MPO Planning Area.
A particular focus of the Plan update will be that of enhancing the viability and implementation of “high-quality” bike and pedestrian facilities that may have an overall larger affect on increasing walking and biking throughout the MPO Planning Area.
Project Focus
The Update will focus on the following:
· Developing a network of high-quality bike and pedestrian facilities
· Promote a feeling of safety
· Focus implementation efforts in in high-demand and vulnerable user areas
· Provide access to destinations such as schools and trails
Unlike the previous plan, which included programmatic elements as well, this Update will primarily focus on developing an updated project list with a prioritization plan and implementation action strategy.
Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan Public Survey
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan Update Survey Deadline is July 30, 2025.
